It’s not too long now before I’ll be boarding a flight to my beautiful Jamaica to capture Natasha and Pelego’s wedding in the heat of Caribbean sun! It’s going to be very special, no doubt! In the meantime here a a few of my favorite images from their engagement session last month…
Here are few highlights from Tosin and Dinsdale’s pre-wedding session back in one of my favourite places to shoot Brick Lane, London.
I was blessed to photograph another one of my my dear friends (and superstar photographer!) Sarah and her husband Rob who visited London in October as part of their mini european tour. It was a freezing cold Sunday and we spent most of the day shooting outside but we all managed to survive and have some fun in the process. I gotta thank Emma my assistant that day who was unprepared for the freezing temperatures but hung on in there with me. Here are just a few images I’ve edited so far…..
It was in Seville (Spain) on board Scott Robert Lim’s Next Level workshop that Souwah and Stephen met for the first time in late 2008. Their story in (very) short goes something like this:
Boy flies to Spain, boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, boy returns home to the US, boy misses girl, boy flies to England, boy spends time with girl, boy returns home, boy misses girl so much, boy flies to England, boy spends even more time with girl, boy returns home, and this goes on and on back and forth for some time (you get the picture), boy can’t bear to be apart from girl, boy knows what he must do, boy flies to England, boy whisks girl away, boy asks girl to marry him, girl answers YES!!!!!
So where do I fit into their story? Well I was there with them in Spain for the start of their fairytale romance and two years later they asked me to be there again as we returned to beautiful Seville to shoot their engagement session. It was two days of shooting heaven with great weather, beautiful locations, very little sleep, and the best lemon meringue in the world! (seriously the BEST!) Rarely does one get to witness a love story unfold like they would do reading the pages of a fairytale book but the chance to capture them in the place where it all began was an honour and a truly rewarding experience as their photographer and even more so as their friend. Souwah and Stephen are the perfect antidote to all those that profess romance to be dead and if I get to experience just a fraction of the love they have for each other I will be a happy man. They marry next summer and it will be a glorious day for us all who have watched their relationship grow and blossom over the past couple of years to see them finally join together in perfect harmony and embark on the marriage of a lifetime.
